Frequently asked questions
The basics
One private soul and R&B night, thrown by your company for your clients and prospects. I do the lot: the venue, the food, the hosted bar, two DJs, an MC and a live PA, the production, the invitations and the report the morning after. You turn up as a host, not an organiser.
Companies with client relationships worth protecting, and a room of clients and prospects who grew up on this music. It's built around the twenty accounts you most want to grow. It's not a staff do, and I don't sell it as one.
Exclusive hire of a proper music venue. Food served all night and a hosted bar, never a cash bar. Two DJs, an MC and a live PA, a named artist doing 30 to 40 minutes over the DJ. Sound, lights and staging. A delivery lead on site all night. A photographer. The invitations written, sent and chased. Security, door, cloakroom and insurance. And the How It Landed report the morning after. One all-in price.
London and the South East. If your guests are somewhere else, tell me and I'll look at it, but London is where I'm set up and where the room is best.
Yes. The night runs on the music, not the bar, so everyone is in, drinkers or not. Great drinks and seriously good no-alcohol options, and no cash bar, so nobody is caught out at the till.
What it costs
Two ways in. The Opening Set, one night, £50,000 plus VAT. The Residency, four nights a year, £180,000 plus VAT a year, billed £45,000 quarterly, with first pick of every date and your rate held for three years. The bill is the same on both: two DJs, an MC and a live PA. Every price is plus VAT and that's the only extra.
Yes, and most people should. The Opening Set is one night, £50,000 plus VAT. The reason to take the year isn't the money, it's that one night is a peak and peaks fade. Four nights across a year is what makes it stick, and four nights show you a pattern: which of your named accounts came back. A single night can never tell you that.
No. Start with one night. If you do take the Residency, you can walk after night one, no fee, no re-rate.
50% on signing, 50% thirty days before the night, in cleared funds. The Residency is billed £45,000 quarterly, in advance. Your Initial Payment only ever covers costs I've actually committed on your behalf.
Every price is plus VAT. VAT on client entertaining is not recoverable in the UK. Check the detail with your own accountant.
No, and I would rather tell you than have your finance team find it. Client entertaining gets no corporation tax relief in the UK, and the VAT is not recoverable either. Check the detail with your own accountant.
Three founding clients, and there is no discount. You pay full price. In return your rate is held for 3 years and you get first pick of dates, permanently. In exchange I ask for photos from the night, a named case study and one reference call with a serious prospect. Same product, same delivery, same terms.
It comes out of the same pot as the client entertaining, the summer do and the box. Compare that to Wimbledon, where official hospitality starts at £1,145 a head, and they came for the tennis. Twenty accounts in a room at £50,000 is £2,500 each. You know what one of your accounts is worth over a year. I do not, so I won't do that sum for you.
The guarantee
I read your guest list before I take the booking. Send me the 20 accounts you would want in the room before you sign anything. If I don't think it lands for that list, I'll say so and I won't do it. Then a floor. If fewer than 10 of those accounts have someone confirmed 4 weeks out, you move the date at no cost, or I shrink the night and the price together. Your call. And every line of your spec, or you don't pay for what is missing. That's in the contract. On the Residency you can walk after night one.
The How It Landed report the morning after: who came and who stayed. That's the only proof I offer. I don't claim pipeline, retention or ROI, and I would not believe anyone who did. See a sample report.
The night and the music
Motown and soul, disco and funk, R&B, old-school reggae and lovers rock, and classic UK garage. The records a grown crowd knows every word to, played by festival-grade selectors rather than laptop jocks. The sound flexes to the room.
A DJ on their own is cheaper, and it's not the same thing. The price covers the venue, the food, the hosted bar, the production, the delivery lead, the photographer, the invitations and the report. Book the DJ yourself and you have bought a playlist and kept the whole job.
You can. It becomes somebody's second job for 3 months. The venue, the licence, the caterer, the bar, the sound, the security, the insurance, the invitations and the chasing. I do it end to end for one price. And if a line of the spec is missing, you don't pay for it.
A box gives you twelve seats and a game everyone watches facing the same way. A festival is somebody else's event with your clients loose in it. This is your room, your guest list, your name on the door, for four hours.
Trust and risk
Fair question, and being early is my risk to carry rather than yours. Your Initial Payment only ever covers costs I've actually committed. Whoever ends up running your night, you'll meet them before it. And you get every line of the spec, or you don't pay for what's missing.
Security, door and cloakroom are in the price on every night, and the venue and suppliers I book carry their own cover. Public liability cover for the night is arranged as part of the booking and I'll confirm the paperwork with you before you sign.
I use your guest list to invite people to your night, run the RSVPs and write the report, and for nothing else. I don't market to your clients. The detail is in our privacy notice.
It applies to a night like this, and I take it seriously. Security and a door team are in the price, and there is a delivery lead on site all night. Tell me how your HR or legal team want it handled before you sign and I'll run it that way.
